The Forever Green Initiative is hosting a series of introductory webinars focused on four perennial and winter annual grain crops: winter barley, hybrid winter rye, winter camelina and Kernza.

The live webinars, happening throughout the first half of June, will pair University of Minnesota researchers and extension professionals with farmers who have trialed these crops on-farm.

The webinars are free, but we’re asking attendees to register ahead of time. Find more details below, and we hope you can join us.

The state of Minnesota has provided funding to encourage and de-risk the production of these types of perennial and winter annual grain crops. The Environmental & Economic Clusters of Opportunity (EECO) grant provides an ecosystem services payment as well as risk management payments to growers enrolled in the program for winter barley, hybrid winter rye, winter camelina and Kernza.

To learn more about the EECO program and how you can sign up for 2023, contact Sienna Nesser ([email protected]) or Matt Leavitt ([email protected]).
